This is the Atobarrier 365 Cream, for dry sensitive skin, and it was the number one moisturizer at Olive Young in 2020 out of fifty or seventy moisturizers on the shelf. It says it's for dry sensitive skin but it's actually not super heavy, you can control the amount and use the whole system if you're dry, and there's a lotion version in the same line that's more watery if you find the cream too heavy. I tested it with two other makeup artists and we all gave this the top tier rating, so it's definitely worth trying.
The number one cleanser is the Manyo Factory cleansing oil. I pump it two and a half times with dry hands, and if your face is a bit bigger you can use up to four pumps. Massage gently for a minute, then wet your hands and massage for another thirty seconds, and since eye makeup is strong I rub that area carefully, add more water, and massage for another thirty seconds, that emulsification process is very important. I rinse it off with water and it cleaned amazingly, no need for double cleansing.
Skin1004 is part of that popular sunscreen trio, so high quality with a very advanced filter, and nothing about it sucks. It is a chemical sunscreen though, so if you have very sensitive eyes it can sting.
I'm From toner is milky, but the texture is lightweight, so it's great for oily or combo skin too. For most people I'm From can be more appealing because I think it's a little lighter, and it's a little less expensive, so I like it better.

Purito is very affordable, so I really wanted to like it, but this one goes to my C. When I swatched it on my skin it looked great at first, but as time went by it looked ashy on me, and the texture is a bit dry so I could see too much lines on my skin. I don't recommend it for dry mature skin, it's going to be terrible. At least for my Asian skin tone, I think this would be my C.
This one doesn't have water resistance, and honestly it feels like a sunscreen from 10 years ago, too heavy. I have to rub it in literally seven to ten times, so it's too heavy, too thick. There's no reason to use it when we have a lot better versions now. This goes to C tier.
Luna's concealer does have a lighter shade than the Sam, but unless you're using it strictly as a highlighter, you really don't need it. When I compared the color payoff and firmness to the Sam, they weren't that different, but the Sam blends better overall.
This one has no scent, so if you're sensitive to that it's great, but I don't know why it's so popular, it feels very safe, that's it, and I don't think I'm going to repurchase it. It's pretty rough as a scrub, so if you have dry mature skin like me it's way too much overexfoliating. It also comes in a jar which is hard to dig into, and the rose scent is too strong for me.

8 Best Skin Barrier Repair Creams for Damaged, Sensitive & Peeling Skin
"I used to say the cream was just okay, but the 2025 upgrade changed that. Look for nine-free on the tube, that's the new third generation formula, safe for the whole family and packed with ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids. The cream gets a bit tough to squeeze, so if you want an easier pump go for the lotion instead. It's Korea's number one bestselling body lotion for a reason. Worth the hype."

"This wins for me because you can use it on both the body and the face, while the other one is only for the face. I do not think the pricier option is twice as good, so price wise they are similar, and since I became a mom I think about being able to use the same cream on my baby and myself as a family cream, so I give this the better point. It is also the more popular pick here in Korea, they even have a lotion version, and if you live somewhere tropical the lotion version would work even better."

"This cream is very thick and has capsules in it, heavier than their lotion. It says it's for dry sensitive skin but I can't agree, it dries too quickly. One great advantage is no scent, but that's it. A lot of Koreans in the reviews say it's not enough for their dry skin."

"This is not bad but I do not understand that much hype. There is no fragrance at all so you can use it for a baby, a pregnant woman, like an old family item, but the thing is it is so thick, oh my god, you have to put too much effort to put it on the face, you have to rub it too much, so it is going to be a little more work. If you want it for the face and body it is not bad."
"I compared it side by side and honestly the texture and scent are very similar to its rival. But if you leave it on for a while, the Beauty of Joseon stays moisturized a little bit longer. My one complaint is I do not love the Instagram style packaging, it feels wasteful, though I know they also sell it in a tube version at Amazon which fixes that. Later on, next to the Medicube capsule cream, it felt like just too plain a moisturizer, but overall it is a solid, long lasting pick."

"This is my second one of these and I think it works even better than the first. My sister has really sensitive skin and everything else I gave her she never finished because it did not agree with her skin, but she actually finished this one, which tells me it works well even for sensitive skin. It comes in a jar, it is not too heavy, it feels like something between a lotion and a cream, and if you apply a little more it also works well for dry skin. It feels like more of an all rounder. It has a very good hydration level and works well even for very sensitive, very dry skin. Overall, this got the number one spot out of all sixteen moisturizers I tested."

"This is my Holy Grail. This is my second jar, which means a lot because I have so many different products, I am living in cosmetic candy land so it is really hard to finish one. My sister has atopic inflammation, so sensitive, but she used it with no problem. I did not expect that much moisturizing compared to other products for dry skin, it is the most light but it moisturizes well, so I think it is definitely great if you do not like a too heavy one, maybe for guys too, or for combo skin, but when you feel dry try it as a night cream. Try putting it only on the cheeks, it is super moisturizing. Mixsoon, I have a lot of their products, a little pricey but working pretty well, but this one is the one I use the most right now."

"If you have really dry, crusty skin on your body in winter, I highly recommend going with a Cetaphil jar cream, or a repair version, that's a lot better."
"Kahi Bomb, the original stick balm, is super smooth with a big lip balm texture, perfect for dry, mature 50 plus skin. It even works over makeup like a natural highlighter and it didn't peel on me at all. But it is an oil, so use it with a little caution."

12 Viral K-Beauty Products I Regret Buying
"This is basically just a big lip balm that was all over the ads a few years ago. If you are dry, mature skin over forty and want something for winter, it is okay, but if you are from a tropical country with oily or combination skin you will hate this. The one great thing is that it is convenient, you can carry it around and do not have to make your hands wet, you just put it on whatever anti-aging area you want. But before you put on makeup you have to control the amount because it is sticky. It is better than nothing, but the glow sinks into your skin and disappears."

"This stick balm from Kahi isn't too big, it looks just like a deodorant stick. It feels like oil but not too much, has no scent, and is easy and wide to apply, which makes it better for lazy people. I wouldn't recommend putting on too much before makeup though, because it's still oil."
"This is really good if you're dry, mature skin, but I never recommend it to oily combo skin or anyone in tropical weather, only for dry, mature or really dry skin. I'd give Laneige Cream Skin more points because when you buy it they give you a mist to go with it, which is great, so after you dry your face in the shower you can use the mist so your skin doesn't stay dry."

Are These Popular Viral Toners Actually Good? | Tier List
"This started the cream skin category of milky toners. Between all the milky toners, this one is heavy too, similarly heavy to the others. Other fellow makeup artists in younger age groups said this feels too stuffy for them. I'd recommend it in winter for anybody who feels really dry, but other than that I just don't recommend it, you'll feel like it's already too much before you even put on moisturizer. If you buy the new version they give it to you with a mist, and that mist works so well. If you layer it two or three times you can basically skip your serum and just go with a light moisturizer. It works like a toner and a serum hybrid. They use BTS Jin as the model for it, which makes it a little more expensive because of that."

"The packaging says it's for dry sensitive skin, but I don't really think so. It's a little smooth to apply, a bit thicker in consistency, but it sinks into the skin really well and isn't a heavy balm. If you have combo skin that gets oily outside but feels tight and dry in winter, you can definitely try this. It's worth trying, but I'm a little skeptical. If your skin barrier is a real emergency right now I think you'd need a product made for dry skin instead. But for everyday use, no problem at all."

Top K-Beauty Products You NEED in 2025! (Tested & Loved)
"The Aestura Atobarrier Cream doesn't show up much in the summer rankings because it's really for dry sensitive skin. It has capsules in it, but once you rub it in it just sinks into your skin. If a gel moisturizer or another affordable product isn't working for you when your skin feels dry, try this, especially if you have thin skin, because a gel type is too light, it evaporates and lets wrinkles show. This one is a lot thicker, it's my go to product, but in summer it feels too heavy, so they also make a lotion in the same line that's a little more watery, you can try that instead in summer."
How To Repair Skin Barrier At Home | Sensitive Skin care with affordable products
"This is a super high ranking, almost number one moisturizer during the winter time. The main ingredients are ceramide, cholesterol and fatty acid, which are the core components of your skin barrier, they come in capsules that melt down when you massage it in. Compared to the other products this one is a lot more of a daily moisturizer, but it still feels a bit oily for oily skin, so except for oily and acne prone skin, I recommend it for the daily moisturizer to also keep your skin barrier."
Global No.1 vs Korea No.1 Skincare: Which is Better and Why?
"Aestura is number one here in Korea and number one on Amazon too, everybody knows it if you're even a little into K-beauty. It's a light gel cream that stretches, though the lid is so big it gets messy as soon as you open it. If you have dry, mature skin, in winter just pass, it doesn't work at all for you. If you have oily or combo skin you have to be able to withstand a sticky formulation, you'll want something fresher. It has small grains in it that melt in quickly when you apply it, just make sure to press it in gently or the grains can remain. It's great to apply before makeup or at night and works well for most people, I've used it for a long time."

"For the face, this one feels a lot better, softer, and spreads well. I tried using it half and half with another cream and this one was a little more moisturizing. I have used it for more than three years, I test so many different products and I feel this one is really effective. It has become so popular, Estra has many different lines and products, but this is the number one repurchase product, definitely worth the hype. If your skin stinks no matter what you do, if it feels like it is breaking out too much, if your skin barrier is damaged, this is the one you should try. It has a little oil in it and an ingredient that helps reconstruct your skin barrier, it contains ceramide, cholesterol, and squalane. You can also try it at night in winter, just do not tap it on too much since it is very thick, make sure to spread it and let it absorb. A few reviews say their pores get a little bumpy after using it, but I do not think that is the product's fault, you can also put it on your neck for a massage since it feels so soft and it is definitely moisturizing well."

"This cream is so famous it used to only be used by dermatologists, but a few years ago they released it in the market and now it's popular, I use it in my classes a lot. It has a thick texture with capsules in it, so make sure to rub it in enough and it melts and makes things really hydrating. When you apply products from this heavier set it's a bit oily and sticky, you can't help but feel it, but among moisturizers in this category, this one is relatively easy to use."
"The texture is very slimy, and on dry, mature skin it doesn't work, it evaporates and it's all gone. I don't really use it myself, but if you have more oily or combo skin and don't want anything too oily, it can be okay, more for the summer time, so if you're already using it, just keep going. But dry skin, mature skin, never ever, it's not going to work. I was going to give this between a B and a C, so I'll just give it a P."

"The COSRX snail line is only popular online outside of Korea, none of Korean people are using this. Come with me to the largest beauty health store in Korea, in their huge COSRX section you only see the famous vitamin C serum and the propolis line, snail is nowhere. This does not moisturize long enough, it is only okay for oily skin but it is too sticky, so who is going to use this. Vegan snail was popular ten years ago, in my mom's generation. It got popular again because it works well for a short TikTok style video, but that is it."
"I really didn't like the packaging, it's too Instagrammable and it's just annoying. I do like the cheaper version more. This one is easier and works for whatever your skin type is, you can easily use it. It's not too heavy, more like something between a lotion and a cream, so easy to apply. People say it works like a barrier repair if your skin is damaged, but I don't really think so. I would pick Aestura over this if I'm comparing, but it's not that bad. "345 is definitely the winner, I also put this in my moisturizer tier list video, and I tested it with my makeup artist friends and a lot of them love it because it feels like a really nice cream texture that just goes into your skin so well, pretty good moisturizer for everyday, amazing. But I think some of the ingredients are there for barrier strengthening, it has maybe a little silicone layer, so it feels a little stuffy, and other makeup artists said the same thing. If your skin barrier is really bad and red, this isn't the product for you, but for an everyday moisturizer it's a lot better."

"This is so huge on TikTok as a barrier cream, just like Estra, if your skin feels like it is not working at all, if it is damaged so bad, they say this works pretty good. They named it 345 cream because they put three blemish relief ingredients, four nourishing ingredients like ceramide and panthenol, and five soothing ingredients like hyaluronic acid and centella. The texture is thick but I appreciate both the tube type and the naming because it is very smart. However, the moisturizing power is not strong enough to rebuild the skin barrier. It is good as an everyday moisturizer for dry skin, but if you need medicine for your skin in an emergency I will definitely choose the Illiyoon repair lotion instead."
"Comparing to the other one, the other two makeup artists also don't like this much because it's a lot heavier since they put more ingredients in for restoring the barrier, and I agree with that. When you want to restore the barrier because your skin is really damaged, you have to look for something more like Panthenol or an ointment style cream, like La Roche-Posay Cicaplast B5 or Reair Barrier. This one has a heavier texture, but I don't see the effect, so I would say this is a C."
"This has some oil in it but it's better for normal to dry skin. But when you think about the price, is it really worth it? Plus it's jar packaging, so scooping it out with your fingers is kind of annoying."
"This takes a little longer to sink in than usual Korean products, but the cooling effect lasts forever. Even oily and combo skin pros are obsessed with it. Price be damned, if your skin gets hot easily this is your new holy grail. I'm picking this deep cooling cream because it's unique."
"This cream is focused on repairing severe skin damage, promoting regeneration, and even anti-aging. It has five percent panthenol and ceramide, it's pretty thick and leaves a finish that feels like you applied oil, and it also contains titanium dioxide, the same ingredient found in mineral sunscreen, which can give your skin a bit of a white cast, so you actually have to apply it with a little force or it doesn't spread well. It's pretty recommended after acne treatment or a laser procedure, but if you have oily or acne prone skin you'll feel this is a bit too oily, so it's more recommended for dry and mature skin and atopic inflammation, for anyone who is really dry or really damaged."

It has zinc oxide from the mineral sunscreen content, so it leaves a white cast, but it also has madecassoside to calm your skin down. It's an all rounder, amazing moisturizer that heals and moisturizes at the same time, and I feel a lot better with it by morning. But some people, including close friends of mine, say it doesn't really work for them, it can feel oily outside but still dry underneath. Global No.1 vs Korea No.1 SKINCARE | Which One is Really Better To Buy?
"If your skin barrier is really damaged, so bad that whatever you put on it stings too much, try La Roche-Posay Cicaplast B5. It's more like an ointment, not a normal moisturizer, you have to melt it and pat it on, otherwise you get too much white cast and end up looking like a ghost. My sister is really sensitive, with a lot of eczema, and she always uses B5, especially in winter, so it's definitely working well for her. It's a barrier moisturizer, but it's more for severe, really really dry skin, not everyday use like Dr. Althea."
"This was my holy grail for a pretty long time. It contains both panthenol and madecassoside. Some of my guests say they're so sensitive they can't even use Aestura, but this one is okay even if you have super sensitive skin. The texture is similar but it doesn't have capsules, it's a little bit heavy. They also have an Extreme Cream Light version, which is better if you have oily or acne prone skin."
"This one is so hot on TikTok, they renewed the packaging. It has 10% panthenol, bamboo extract, and squalane, but to be honest I do not see that difference with other moisturizers. This kind of moisturizer you can find everywhere, and I do not feel like the moisturizing lasts that long. If you have dry skin I highly recommend going with a much richer one instead, for normal skin S.Nature is a lot better. This one is not for me."
"This is a very famous product among Korean beauty YouTubers, I ended up using it a lot in the summer. It contains 15% squalane, that is a lot, and the squalane is plant based, derived from olives. This product does not contain mineral oil or silicone oil, so if you have very dry skin you can mix it with those kinds of products. On its own it can feel like it is not enough, but it still works so well. It has an ingredient similar to sebum, so on your skin it feels like you already have enough sebum and your skin becomes so comfortable, oily skin girls can try this one for the winter. I am more dry skinned so I definitely reach for this a lot in the summertime. As my pick for the normal skin category though, I do not think this is it anymore, it is okay but now we have so many better products."
"The Red Bean Water Gel is kind of interesting, I haven't seen other brands make this kind of gel, it's basically like an aloe gel. If you have dry or mature skin, this gel isn't for you. It feels really cooling when you put it on, but once it evaporates it dries your skin out more. If you have a device to help it absorb you might be able to use it, but other than that, it was a waste of my money."
"Dear Klairs was a little popular a few years ago so I bought their Midnight Blue Calming Cream, but I didn't feature it in a video because nobody asked about it and I don't think people are as interested anymore since there are so many better products now. The Midnight Blue Calming Cream is just okay, if you already have it you can use it."
"The one on the right is famous for a lot of reviews on Amazon, but my holy grail is the one on the left, both are from Illiyoon, the same brand. If your skin is too dry no matter what you wear, trust me and try it. It's a large size so I use it for a long time, you can use it for the whole family, and I even use it on my face when it gets so sensitive."

Viral K-Beauty vs What Koreans Actually Use: Which is better? And Why?
"Of the PDRN serums, VT is the most heavy, it feels more like a little lotion, in between a serum and a lotion, pretty thick. I love using it before makeup and I use it more for dry, mature skin. This season, in winter, I like the VT one the most. This one is also plant derived rather than from salmon, so if you're looking for something more vegan, this is it."
What You Should Know Before You Buy Viral Korean Skincare Products!
"This is very milky, not too greasy, and after I absorb it, it makes my skin the most glowy. I'd recommend it more for dry, mature skin, especially in winter. Even for my skin it can be too heavy, so I don't think I'll reach for it that often in summer. It's plant based, so if you don't want to try the salmon extract you can try this instead. It claims to have 100,000 PPM of PDRN, but it's listed last on the ingredient list, which means it's going to be a really small amount. I called them and asked and they couldn't tell me the exact number, so I don't think it's going to be that much PDRN. As a wintertime night serum it's okay for me, no problem, but some of the reviews say the packaging is leaking, so keep that in mind too."
"Sulwhasoo is a well known middle aged Korean women's favorite brand, the number one seller on Amore Mall, and it would make a great gift for anybody who knows K-beauty. Their number one seller is the first care serum. They call it a serum but it's really more like a first essence, so you can use it like a toner. It's pretty appealing to many people, but it does have a little herbal scent, some people are fine with it and some people really don't like it, so keep that in mind."
"This gives a lot more glow than you'd think, so if you want that glass skin look and your skin is more dry, go with this one. But I feel it's too expensive for skincare, so I'm going to pick Anua instead."
"This one is popular with a lot of people, but that just means it's not really amazing and not really bad, it's just okay, nobody picked it as their best. If it's summer and you have normal skin you could just try it on. Except for me, nobody else on the team had used it before and I didn't even recognize it. Even though it has propolis it doesn't have a strong scent, it's a small bottle, but I didn't even finish it, which means I didn't really see that much difference. "The rice and green tea glow serum is relatively light, which is fine for oily skin. It just makes my skin feel moisturized, but it doesn't last long, it wears off quickly. The size is also small, which is good for carrying around, but it's okay to use and I don't feel the need to buy it again since there are more affordable and better working versions out there."
"SkinCeuticals is an expensive brand a lot of people worship, their vitamin C serums are like two hundred fifty dollars. People say it's very effective, but makeup artists and people who work in beauty say it's too aggressive, and so many people got breakouts after using it."
"This contains six different peptides. Peptides work as anti-aging, they help other ingredients work better, it's a great assistant. It works for all different skin types. It's a bit tacky, but not too much, so you have to pat it in well. One good thing is I reach for this more often because of the pump, it's easy, not fussy. If you're using vitamin C or retinol, which can make your skin sting a little, you can put this on first and it works a lot better. It's an amazing booster."
"This became popular more outside of Korea, beauty influencers started this brand, so people are still a little skeptical, but once I tried it, it's pretty good. Compared to others it's definitely a heavier one, it becomes a little sticky and tacky. If you do your makeup after it, foundation sticks so well, I prefer it for makeup too. I'd never recommend using it with a cotton pad, just pat it onto your skin. A fellow makeup artist in her 20s with combo skin felt this was too stuffy for her, but if you have mature skin you'll like it."

"I recommend the d'Alba White Truffle First Spray Serum for normal to dry mature skin, it's not suitable for oily skin or summer, don't forget it's an oil. If you spray it more than three or four times and you have oily skin, it gets way too oily. I leave it in the bathroom and use it instead of toner, you can take care of your face and neck with it. Mist isn't a category I love, but it's effective in summer, spray it when your face is red and warm and it lowers your body temperature, and it's good preparation before makeup. It has a strong scent, and there are quite a few reviews of people getting a reaction to it, so keep that in mind."

"This one has 5% niacinamide and a peach scent, but the brightening effect is questionable for me, and it's a lot more watery than the first one. I'd rate this a B too, but I prefer the red one."
"I tried to like this because I saw so many reviews about it, but it changes to a yellow color way too quickly. I checked the reviews and I'm not the only one seeing that. Other vitamin C serums also turn yellow over time, but at least they use a darker bottle, this one comes in a white bottle so you can't tell how fast it's oxidizing. Whenever I use it my face becomes a little more heated, so I think it can be a bit aggressive. It might react differently for other people, but I'd rather try a smaller, brown bottled option instead."
"It's labeled as a serum but comes in a tube with a gel cream texture, no scent, and it melts easily onto the skin without stickiness. The key ingredients are 5% niacinamide to even out skin tone and squalane for hydration, but I cannot see any effect, it's hydrating for only a few minutes and then disappears. Since it's already a gel cream, layering a moisturizer on top feels burdensome. Final rating, C."

"This one is also really popular outside of Korea and on TikTok. It was pretty good, better than I expected, not amazing, not really bad. It says it's a Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum, but I think they should erase that claim, I don't see the dark spots fading at all. They put in 5% niacinamide, which is supposed to make your skin overall brighter, but I didn't feel that way. The glow though, I totally agree with, whenever I apply it, it absorbs pretty quickly. I had my husband test it and he said it was okay because it's not sticky, it makes your overall skin condition pretty good. The manual says you can use it thicker as a sleeping mask, so I tried that and it worked well. If you have oily or combo skin you can use it on its own, and if you have dry skin I think it still works pretty good."
"I thought this was only temporarily popular, but people still mention it, it's like an aloe gel, very lightweight. This is a centella serum, so if you do well with centella and have sensitive, oily or combo skin that hates stickiness, you can try it out. For me it's very light so I use it as a toner, but it was actually moisturizing pretty well, better than expected. Another point for the easy pump, and they changed the packaging to something more modern. I'd give this an A."

"This Purito serum is a lot more popular on TikTok globally than it is in Korea. It's okay, especially for oily skin, it has centella which definitely has a soothing effect, so if you have oily skin with minor breakouts and you're really sensitive, try this one. The texture is really light, like a light gel, but for my dry skin it just feels too light, so I just use it like a toner. Whenever my skin gets a little red, this one definitely cools it down."
"I bought this together with the rice toner and it's even way much better than the toner. I have like 15 different serums at my studio and it's hard to use this much, I don't know why people don't know about this. I love it, not too heavy, it absorbs quickly and moisturizes so well. If you love the rice toner, just believe me, you will love this more. It contains niacinamide and it says it brightens your skin, but I don't think so, that's just a theory, but I can guarantee you it moisturizes your skin so well."
"The last serum is the Torriden Dive-In Serum, they've been doing aggressive marketing in front of the Olive Young checkout line, you can't avoid it. The truth is it's pretty good, the texture is thicker than water but it absorbs so quickly into the skin. Originally hyaluronic acid can be a bit sticky and need time to smear into the skin, but they split the hyaluronic acid into five different types of molecules so it makes for a great finish that's not sticky at all. I highly recommend it for men, combination and oily skin, and teenagers, you guys will love it."

Olive Young Top 1–3 Products: Overhyped or Actually Worth It?
"If you haven't tried cleansing oil, it's worth it. Between all the different types of cleansers, cleansing oil is the most effective because it can cleanse inside the pores, melting everything down, since oil has to be dissolved with oil. Korean cleansing oils overall are high quality, but the great thing about this one is that after you cleanse, your skin doesn't feel dehydrated. It also has a lot of natural ingredients, so some people can react to it, if you break out from it, it's just not for you. It's a heavier oil, so if you want something lighter there are other options."

Massage gently for a minute, then wet your hands and massage for another thirty seconds, and since eye makeup is strong I rub that area carefully, add more water, and massage for another thirty seconds, that emulsification process is very important. I rinse it off with water and it cleaned amazingly, no need for double cleansing."

If you want a more lightweight cleansing oil, better to go with something like Mixsoon, Round Lab, Anua, or Numbuzin. It has a strong artificial chemical scent, so be careful. It feels a bit slippery and there's less irritation after washing. It's part of the mildly acidic foam cleanser trend that's been evolving in Korea lately."
"This natural cleansing oil has a thick consistency, if you're a cleansing oil newbie you'll feel it's a bit heavy, with a little scent I didn't like that much at first. But it's effective at removing blackheads and all my makeup, and the amazing thing about the Banila Co Clean It Zero is that after you cleanse it off, the skin is still very bouncy and moisturizing. I definitely recommend it for mature, dry skin. Some reviews said it caused too much stimulation on their skin, some people react to the natural ingredients, so keep that in mind."
"This cleansing balm works the same way as their cleansing oil, you apply it to dry hands, rub it in, emulsify, and wash it off, except the oil pumps out easily while the balm needs a spatula to scoop out. It's good because it's really gentle and mild and it cleanses well, but compared to their cleansing oil, the oil melts down blackheads way better."
"This is a very mild, low pH cleanser, it contains ingredients to help moisturize and calm your skin, however it doesn't cleanse as well, I don't think it will erase sunscreen, it only removes sweat or dirt from outside so you can only use it as a second cleanser or as a morning cleanser. It has a scent, and it's very thick so you have to squeeze it too hard. I bought this because it was all over TikTok, it was even hard to buy because of that. It's a really transparent light gel, very light formulation, colorless and odorless. This is the most disappointing cleanser because it doesn't cleanse anything, it feels just like a feminine cleanser, it's so mild you can't actually cleanse with it."

But whenever I've done makeup for a shoot and it's too much work to fully cleanse, I always wipe it off with this, and I can totally understand why people keep coming back to it because it's so mild and easy, very moisturizing, and you don't have to follow up with water cleansing. But you do need to use a cotton pad with this kind of micellar water, which can be a bit too aggressive if your skin barrier isn't strong. So I use it sometimes, but it's not going to be my main cleanser."
Korean Skincare products that are actually POPULAR in Korea
"This is the Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Water, the only product not made in Korea on the bestseller top ten, and it's even 30 percent more expensive than other micellar water from Korean brands. But even super sensitive skin that can't even use a cleansing foam can use this, it's so gentle, and you don't have to wash your face with water afterward, so this one works like a toner too, it's versatile. If you do the double cleanse, this is amazing as the second cleanser."
"Dr. Jart is a premium BB cream, and I'm actually using this a lot at my classes because compared to all the other BB creams here, it's one of the most moisturizing and it doesn't show up wrinkles that much. If I have a guest coming who's in their fifties or sixties with more pigmentation, I mix in a little foundation, because the color alone looks a little pinkish gray, like sweet potato, which doesn't look that good on my warm skin. But mixed with foundation the coverage goes way higher and the texture is amazing. It's a little pricey, around forty eight dollars, but I think dry mature skin women over fifty should please try it. I've used it so many times, so I'm giving this one an S."
"This is in every single Japanese drugstore. A few years ago this was S tier, but now it's down to an A tier. It's a chemical sunscreen and it will sting your eyes, and as I get older my eyes get even more sensitive, and tons of reviews agree. It's around six bucks and the texture feels exactly like a lightweight lotion. I highly recommend it for dry or mature skin, but oily skin types might feel too greasy. It costs almost double at Olive Young in Korea, so if you're in Japan it's definitely worth picking up."

"This is a Japanese national sunscreen, like a superstar, even here in Korea, it comes in a similar blue bottle to Round Lab. Between the two, I'll pick this one, go for it. It has alcohol in it as the second ingredient, but that doesn't bother me, it makes it feel really good, especially for oily skin, and it works great under makeup, you can't tell you're wearing sunscreen at all."

"I tested both the US and Korea versions of this famous sunscreen. The US one is not hydrating enough, but the Korean version is way better, great for extremely dry mature skin with a glow. Just watch out for the eye stinging thing though."
Viral K-Beauty vs What Koreans Actually Use: Which is better? And Why?
"Compared to Round Lab, about 30% of the ingredients are similar, and if I do a blind test I honestly can't tell the difference. Both are great, I love both, just get whatever is on sale, or if you've only tried one, try the other, it's great. It feels amazing, so many people in my class ask me what sunscreen this is. Just keep in mind some people are allergic to the ingredients."
K-Beauty Classics vs Newbies: Which Is Better… AND WHY? 🔥
"This is the original Beauty of Joseon sunscreen. It's better for more oily combo skin because it just feels like a moisturizer, though some people with oily combo skin or in tropical weather might find it a little too greasy. I had my husband, who's more oily combo skin and hates anything sticky, try it out and he definitely loved it, it goes into the skin more quickly. So I think you can try it, I like this one a lot better."
Global No.1 vs Korea No.1 Skincare: Which is Better and Why?
"Beauty of Joseon and Round Lab are made by the same manufacturer, a lot of the ingredients, even the order, are similar, so when I tried them side by side I honestly couldn't tell much difference, I liked both. Some reviews say the original Beauty of Joseon version is too oily, they released a new version called Fresh that's actually better, no white cast, it's a beautiful sunscreen, great to wear before makeup."
Beauty of Joseon Top 16 products Rated Best to Worst (Not Sponsored)
"This is my number one pick from Beauty of Joseon, their popular sunscreen. Both the original and the new version are chemical sunscreens, and if you're sensitive, some reviewers say their eyes get itchy. It's so lightweight that even if you layer it several times it doesn't peel and it absorbs well, and it's glowy after application, but it doesn't last long. You need to use a cleansing oil to remove it because it's water resistant, so it's hard to wash off with a cleansing foam. As a dry skin type, I love it and it's great under makeup. I highly recommend it if you have oily or combo skin, or if you live somewhere tropical, because the older version feels more oily while the newer one has a more watery, fresh texture. I'm pretty sensitive about scent though, and I don't like the scent on the older one, it's a lot stronger than the new one. They also upgraded the packaging, since the old tube got dirty easily, and it's easier to squeeze now because the discharge port is longer."

"I bought this two or three years ago and I loved it. But comparing it to the newer 2026 sunscreen versions, this cream feels pretty heavy now, because Korean sunscreens have become a lot more advanced. I recommended it two years ago, but now I'd say it's still a good one, just a little behind, you have to rub it in more."

"This one doesn't have water resistance, and honestly it feels like a sunscreen from 10 years ago, too heavy. I have to rub it in literally seven to ten times, so it's too heavy, too thick. There's no reason to use it when we have a lot better versions now. This goes to C tier."

It is a bit oily and moisturizing, and it doesn't have aroma oil or artificial fragrance, so even my husband, who doesn't like other sunscreens, is using this one. But it isn't strong against water and friction, so if you're in a tropical climate or it's summer, you have to reapply it many times."

"This one is also really popular on social media, and I'd give it a great rating, but the scent, if you're sensitive about scent, watch out. I even opened a new one because I wondered if it had gone off with time, but even the new ones smell the same and it's kind of strong, stronger than something like Round Lab. The finish is okay before makeup, the texture feels amazing, and I love the pretty packaging, but because of the scent it drops to just a little bit okay."
"It's kind of ironic, I said their sunscreen is amazing, but the sunstick isn't really. It's made for oily skin, it's their matte sunstick, and you can't really feel it on your skin, but if you have dry skin it feels like you're rubbing hard soap on your face. You can use the sunstick for touchups, like at the mountain, but I don't think a sunstick can replace a classic sunscreen. "The Beauty of Joseon sunstick is for oily skin, but for me it was so hard, like soap, that my face turned red when I applied it. A lot of people say it pills, and that's because it's too hard to rub in. It barely has any scent, it's the most matte of the three, it feels like something is there right after applying but a few minutes later you can barely feel it. You may like the matte finish if you have oily skin, but I don't recommend it because it's too hard to apply. This is my least favorite."
"It's not a bad product, I picked this one because even though it has an earthy mugwort scent, it doesn't matter because it feels so cool on the skin. I can feel my skin loves it so much. They're doing an amazing job."
"I made a regret video about this snail mucin essence and so many people commented that it was their regret too, I agree, nobody uses this. If you're a teenager with oily skin you just want water, so go ahead, but if you have dry, mature skin, this is done, it's basically just water layered on many times and it's not going to work. "This did a great job, I love this, it's the upgraded version of the popular snail mucin essence with a dual pump. I tested it and left it for a couple hours and it was still super hydrating. It also has niacinamide at five percent to help brighten your skin, but I don't recommend it if you have oily skin, it'll be too much hydration. "This is like the Beyonce superstar of K beauty, so I'm almost afraid to say anything about it. When people say your skin is dry, your skin lacks not just water but also oil, but this is really just water. The good thing is it feels cool, like snail, but that's it, it's gone fast, and when I put makeup on afterward it cracks too much. I'm almost forty years old and I can't let my skin age faster, so I'm never going to use this again."

"It feels sticky like snail from the moment you apply it and it takes a while to absorb, but it lasts so short that you don't feel anything after a while. There's no snail line at all in the Cosrx corner of Olive Young here in Kangnam, it's not a product Koreans will like at all. It doesn't absorb properly and it doesn't last long enough for dry skin to like it, and it's not vegan."
"This is named as an essence, but the instructions say to use it right after cleansing, so it's really just like a toner, cosmetic companies can name things however they want. It's really milky and heavy. The scent wasn't that strong. The downside is you have to shake it every time before you use it, and the glass bottle is heavy, it's also quite expensive. The description suggests layering it once for oily skin, twice for normal skin, and three times for dry skin, but for oily skin it already feels too heavy. Despite its thick texture, the moisturizing power isn't as great as expected. I don't think I'll be using it often."

"This has way too much scent, Korean cosmetics took a lot of the scent out after three years of everyone wearing masks during covid, so this feels out of date. The texture is really lightweight and not even that long lasting when it comes to moisturizing, so if you're a teenager or have oily skin it's probably okay, but if not, I'd pass on it."
"This one from Skin1004 comes in a big bottle so it feels affordable, but it has capsules you have to melt down, and I used it for a few months and it ended up so messy. It is so hydrating, I would recommend it more for dry mature skin. But if you have oily acne prone skin you will feel this is pretty sticky, and it has centella in it like all Skin1004 products, so if centella is okay for your skin there is no problem, but some people react to it really badly, so keep that in mind."
"They market this as a low irritation soothing and hydrating serum, but if centella doesn't suit you, don't use it, a lot of people say it makes them break out. It feels like a toner, really watery. It's gotten so popular and I've gotten so many comments about this brand, but I think it's kind of overhyped, it's not that popular here. If you have dry or mature skin you won't like it much, for me it just feels like water, like why am I even using this. If you love centella and have oily, acne prone or teenage skin you can try it out, but I'm not interested at all. It's not a C because the formula really is low irritation, so I'll put this as a B."
"I would repurchase this, it just looks like a soothing watery serum, but you can actually use it to exfoliate without irritation. Anybody with thin, sensitive, dry skin who can't normally exfoliate can try this, it only has four ingredients and they're all fermented, they don't even add water. Of course you could just use a normal serum, but I find it works so well, your skin texture becomes so much smoother after you try it, believe me. It's very popular and kind of worth the hype, the lactic acid in it is okay for all ages and skin types, not that irritating, and it's affordable. I wouldn't say I can't live without it, but I reach for it very often. If your skin is dry you do have to seal it with a moisturizer or cream, because the serum alone isn't enough."

"Globally people know this as a snail mucin vegan version because the texture is similar, but it's not snail, it's bean. When Mixsoon marketed it in Korea they said it's not only a hydrating serum but also something you can exfoliate with. You wash your face, pat off the water, pump the essence, and massage your face with it like you're meditating. After five to seven minutes I can feel the grains on my fingers even though my skin doesn't have sebum, and when I wash it off with water the exfoliating is done. Sometimes nothing comes up, but after doing it I can definitely feel the texture become smoother and more hydrated inside. It's much more effective used as an exfoliating massage than just as a normal serum, so I highly recommend trying it that way."

"If I have to pick, I'll just pick this one, it has a little sticky texture. I like this brand a lot because this product is only made with four ingredients, if you have sensitive skin, a product with more ingredients is much more likely to make you react, so simple is best, it's especially good for sensitive skin. It's vegan too. The advertisement says it's good for exfoliating, but it does its job well even though it's really only for hydrating."
"Tirtir is one of the super thick, hydrating milky toners, it's pretty heavy since they make a lighter version separately. If you have oily or combo skin I don't recommend it, it will make your skin feel too tacky. It's a normal milky toner with middle hydration, but if your skin is dry, mature, and not in a tropical climate, you will love it so much because it's so hydrating and it also works like a great primer, sticking well on your skin. Both this and Tonymoly are great, I highly recommend this one for dry skin types."
"Among all the milky toners, this one feels lighter and absorbs faster. It works well for all skin types, no heavy or sticky finish at all. It's more soothing, and it's not sponsored, I'm From doesn't even recognize me. If you have more sensitive skin and want something really mild, it still works well and hydrates so well. "This is the superstar of the milky toners, I love it. They pour moisturizer into the toner, it has a thicker consistency and is a lot more hydrating than the toners I mentioned earlier. The transparent bottle lets you easily see how much is left. Compared to other cream toners, this one isn't that heavy, it's very moisturizing for winter. When your skin feels pretty dry you can layer it two or three times and it still feels hydrating. It's pretty good."

"I'm From toner is milky, but the texture is lightweight, so it's great for oily or combo skin too. For most people I'm From can be more appealing because I think it's a little lighter, and it's a little less expensive, so I like it better."

"I'm From's Rice Toner is less absorbent and less moisturizing than Beauty of Joseon. When I applied it half and half, this one just disappeared quickly. I checked the label later and it's actually formulated for oily skin, but for me it feels more drying. Also the scent, some people say it's okay, but for me it feels too artificial."
I tried TIKTOK *VIRAL* Korean skincare… an honest review (Not sponsored)
"I wondered why this is popular, it feels like rice, that's why it became popular I guess. The size is 60% of the Anua toner but the price is similar, so it's actually expensive for what you get. It's too watery to apply from your hands so you have to pat it in, it was easier to apply on a cotton pad. This is one of my favorite brands but I'm not going to repurchase this one."
"This one takes longer to absorb and feels more oily on the skin. The description says it's lightweight and even suitable for acne prone skin, but I wouldn't recommend it for that. It's quite rich and would only suit dry or mature skin types."
"This is that typical superstar K-beauty toner, more popular outside of Korea than in Korea. I don't think it's worth the hype. I finished one bottle because I use it on all my clients, but I'm not going to repurchase it. Anua says it provides mild exfoliation, but I can't feel anything else from it. It makes dry skin a bit hydrated, but for oily or combo skin you can just pass on it. You can just tap it on and use it."

"It's supposed to be calming for your skin but I didn't find it that different from other watery toners. They say it's 77 percent Heartleaf but I don't see the good point about this. It's fine for all skin types, but don't expect too much, it's just more like a hydrating water. It also has exfoliating ingredients, so if your skin is sensitive and gets red a lot, using this every single day is not good for your skin barrier."
10 Viral Korean Beauty Products Fact-Checked: what worked and what didn’t
"According to social media the Anua toner is good for both exfoliating and hydration, but let me tell you the truth, no toner can do both, you actually have to pick exfoliating or hydrating. If you have sensitive skin and think all toners are the same and use the Anua toner every single day wiping it out with a cotton pad, it's going to be too much stimulus and you'll get more red. If you have oily or combo skin you can try it as an exfoliating toner in the summer, but if you have dry mature skin it's better to use a more hydrating toner instead."

Global No.1 vs Korea No.1 Skincare: Which is Better and Why?
"Anua's toner contains seventy seven percent heartleaf extract, which is great for soothing. It's a light, watery toner, more like water, so I only recommend it for oily or combo skin, dry or mature skin doesn't feel like it works no matter how many layers you apply. It's supposed to make your skin texture better too but I don't feel anything from that, it just feels like it's giving some moisture to my skin."
100% HONEST TikTok viral trending TONERS REVIEW // rec for every skin type
"I finally finished the bottle so now I can review it. If you have dry skin, just skip this one, it's basically water. I don't really understand why it became so popular, maybe because other Western toners smell too much like alcohol. I use it on my customers because it has no scent, it's watery, and it's easy to wipe onto your skin for secondary cleansing. It was really soothing and really mild, the most similar to micellar water. But compared to the Toko toner half and half, this one feels a little tacky and sticky. I gave it to my husband who has oily skin and he picked the Toko instead. A lot of reviews say it makes them break out, so if you're really sensitive, patch test it first. It's okay for oily skin, but if you really hate a little stickiness, the Toko would be better."
Chill&Chat: CYoung’s Live
"Anua's toner is just water, it does nothing. I don't understand why it's not popular here anymore, nobody uses it, it's only big on TikTok. People say it's just water, so it might be fine if you have oily skin, but I have dry skin and I keep asking myself why I'm even using it since it's just water."
I tried TIKTOK *VIRAL* Korean skincare… an honest review (Not sponsored)
"I just don't understand why this is popular, it's just water. The texture is very watery so it's inconvenient to apply with your hands, it's much easier to wipe it off your face with a cotton pad. Even after cleansing there can be residue left, so you have to cleanse once more. For those with thin skin or redness on the cheeks, if you keep rubbing your face with a cotton pad you become more red and your skin gets irritated. When I tested it on my face it dries out too quickly. There's no reason to insist on this one since there are so many other water type toners of similar quality, but if you have oily skin and want to use it to clean your face, it's a good deal, you can get it."
"This comes scented or unscented, it's amazing, you can pick the scented one, it's still okay with me, but if you're sensitive you can definitely go with the unscented since it does have a scent. It's a bit slippery, like old-school hyaluronic acid. Nowadays Korean brands have more advanced hyaluronic acid that isn't slippery, but this still absorbs well and works pretty good, and if you layer it two or three times it works like a serum. Hyaluronic acid works for everybody whatever your skin is, especially in humid weather, it holds water in the air so well. If you feel dehydrated from air conditioning, tropical country ladies, try this out today. I'm pretty generous with it."
"I didn't even read the instructions and I was like, why doesn't this feel like anything? That's because it doesn't really hydrate that much, it absorbs super quickly and it's just gone. So if you have oily skin, for daily use you can try it out, it's okay. But for me, I'm not going to repurchase it."
"This new one is a little different, it has two layers, according to the brand a moisture layer and a powder layer, so you have to shake it before you use it. The moisture layer has rice extract that moisturizes the skin, and what's unique is the powder layer, it absorbs oil and purifies pores. For my dry skin it still felt dry even after I applied a few layers. They say it's great for oily and combo skin, so if your skin is similar to mine, pass on this one, it's not as lightweight as the other water type toners. But if you have oily skin and want a toner that works more on hydration than just a watery toner, try this."
"This is the classic Missha BB cream, and I tested twelve BB creams total, but nothing can beat Missha, it's just amazing. If I think about the price and the quality and the texture, it's just great, so this one goes to S. It gives more coverage and works well for oily combo skin, though it's a bit too liquidy to apply easily with my fingers, so I think it's better applied with a sponge. If you've never tried a BB cream before and want to start, please try this classic Missha BB cream, you won't regret it."

"I don't use this one for myself that much, but I'd put it as an S tier. If you think about the price, the coverage, and how little skill the texture needs, there's no need to hesitate. If you have redness or dry mature skin and your foundation or concealer just cakes and shows your wrinkles, try this BB cream instead, it applies so well and needs no skill, you can put it on with just your fingers like a colored sunscreen. On my skin, since I don't have much redness, the BB cream alone looks a bit dull, so what I do is mix it with a semi matte foundation and it works like magic, I still use this trick with so many of my clients. Please try the BB cream mixed with a foundation, it'll be magic on your skin."

"I tried both the classic and the new Missha BB cream, the new one is thinner and lighter coverage but they're pretty similar under the same brand. If you mix it one to one with your matte foundation for better grip, it blends like a dream and it's under twenty dollars. If I think about the price and the value, it's going to be Missha, it's a lot better quality, and it's great for dry, mature skin. The color does have a bit of a gray undertone to it, but for the price it's still my pick."

"Purito released a lot of different shades and it does have a gray shade in there, you can try the olive tone, but this was my worst out of everything I tested, and when I tested it with my makeup artist friend Yuna it was her worst too. I think it has too much gray shade compared to other brands, and even though a BB Cream should be creamy, it felt heavy and thick."
Ultimate Viral BB cream Guide: Game-Changing Tips No One Tells You
"Between six different products I tested with three makeup artists including me, four people say this is the worst. I think it's the cheapest, don't buy this, don't buy this, too gray, too dark. It even oxidizes so the color becomes darker than it already is. When I went to wash my face, where I had applied this my pores looked huge, like I had put on matte foundation, it was not cute. If you have oily or combo skin and you're worried about pores, stay away, save your money."
"Estee Lauder Double Wear was so impressive, this reformulated version is amazing. It's like a holy grail for people with oily skin, it's super long lasting, and it's still the number one foundation in Korean duty free. I wasn't a fan of the original Double Wear because the color wasn't flattering for Korean skin tones, but this reformulated version is a good choice if you're dry, mature skin and over forty, or if you want a matte foundation for summer. It applies so lightweight, it sets on the skin like a light foundation with setting powder on top, and it barely oxidizes, I love that. But even though I did all my skin prep, right after applying it my pores looked so much worse, I've never seen my pores look that big, it felt like a thick, old fashioned foundation that shows every pore up close. Even so, this is my pick along with Dior matte, the staying power is unreal."
"This was everybody's number one on our panel. Once I put it on my face it feels more creamy with a more satin finish and better coverage than Hera. It feels watery and moisturizing when I first apply it, and after an hour or two it settles in and holds up better in the pores. I think overall people will love this one, it works for all skin types, and I definitely highly highly recommend it. It also has a lot more shade options, around 50. If you only use this on its own you do need a concealer for some spots."
"This is my second bottle, which means a lot because I use so many different products, usually cushions, but I love this one so much. I always recommend it to my students because compared to other glow foundations it has a lot more coverage, this actually feels like a foundation instead of a tinted moisturizer. It's semi matte, so as time goes by it settles down instead of making the pores shiny, which makes it feel like a more universal, amazing, well made foundation. I will definitely repurchase it."
"If you live in a tropical country and you are oily or combo skin, this is the most long lasting out of all eight cushions I tried, it just stays so well. But for me, dry mature skin with fine lines and wrinkles, it is too heavy, it has more powder in it than other cushion foundations, and around my eye area it is a disaster, too many lines show up and it feels too cakey. Even though I applied a tiny amount, the formula itself has a lot of powder in it, so for dry mature skin, stay out of it, it is not for me."

The Best (and Worst) Viral Korean Cushions to buy right now | K-Beauty Honest Review
"This cushion has very clear pros and cons. It's a super high coverage cushion, almost like a concealer inside, and it's too heavy and too matte for my thin, dry skin, it made my pores and wrinkles more visible and got cakey and flaky by the afternoon. They say it's for all skin types but that's not true, it's really only for oily or combo skin. The longevity is insane though, six hours in with zero touch ups and just a little fading around the nose. If you need all day wear and high coverage and you're oily or combo skin with lots to hide, this is for you, but if you have thin skin with nothing major to cover, you can skip it. It has the most shade variety of any cushion I tried, so if you have a darker complexion it's a great one to start with, but go at least one or two shades lighter than your usual Korean cushion because it runs deeper and warmer than you'd expect."
"This collagen mask has ampoules sealed inside, so you're supposed to leave it on overnight or at least three hours so the collagen really absorbs into your skin. It's definitely worth it right after you use it, but for three hours or even overnight of effort, I think the effect isn't that much, because after about an hour the radiance is just gone. I don't see that much point in it, and it's also expensive."

I don't end up using it much because you put in all this effort but the effect feels too short, and during the night it feels too stuffy and I just want to get rid of it. Between all the gel masks, this one is number one because the others are unstable, too thin, or not as effective. But I prefer normal sheet masks instead."

"This overnight mask is the hottest item out there right now, and it's a bit expensive, but I tried it head to head against a cheaper version and in conclusion I'll just buy the original. It has almost no scent, it stuck to my face well, and after twenty minutes my skin felt much more moisturized. Wearing it overnight is a bit annoying and stuffy since you have it on for so long, so I don't recommend it much if you have oily skin, but if you're over forty with mature skin it's amazing, and if you have dry skin you can use it weekly as a special treatment."
I tried TikTok most viral Korean skincare products…an honest review (Not sponsored)
"This mask is so popular all over TikTok, I like it, but I think it's too nutritious for oily skin, I'd recommend it for normal to dry skin, and if you're over forty it's pretty good, it's good as a gift for your mother too. But it's a different type of mask so keep a few things in mind, it doesn't stick well and drips down so you have to lie down to use it, and it says to leave it on for more than three hours so there's really no choice but to do it while sleeping. Be careful because your nails can tear it when you put it on, and if you want that super glowy look, don't just use the mask alone, it doesn't work that way, you have to do your full routine, serum, moisturizer, then apply this and go to bed. In the morning it really does seal everything in, like a sealing wrap. I woke up more than five times because I felt stuffy sleeping in it. It's a good option for long flights, and it's a bit expensive, I'd recommend doing it every ten days to two weeks, like treating yourself to a facial."
"This Peel Shot is all over TikTok and it's overhyped. It's just a gum exfoliator, when it rolls that's mostly the product clumping with your dead skin. Yes, your skin feels smoother, but for dry skin it can strip your barrier. It was too harsh for me, I tried it and my skin ended up stinking so bad. Between this and the other peeling product I don't want to pick either one, I'll pass on this."

"This has AHA, BHA and PHA in it, so if you react to one of those it's not good, be careful if you have sensitive skin. It's pretty strong at first, but your face gets used to it kind of quickly. I kind of like it, I pair it with western products. It's gentle enough for regular exfoliation. It's very smart to call it the 30 Days Miracle Toner, because 30 days is the cycle for your skin to make new cells, though the results are temporary. You can also use it on your body if you get pimples around your chest or back. For my dry, mature skin I'm not going to use it, but it's a well-made product."
100% HONEST TikTok viral trending TONERS REVIEW // rec for every skin type
"This one is pretty popular too, a little less affordable than the Toko toner. It became popular on social media because it's an AHA toner, which isn't that common in K-beauty, that's more of a Paula's Choice or Western brand thing, and it's a really watery toner. But it smells so strong, so minty, like an old man's cosmetic. Even though you're just putting this on, it gets rid of some dead skin cells. If you're sensitive or have a lot of redness, skip it, it's not for you. But if you're combo or dry skin, try this. I use a cotton pad made of rayon, thinner than a regular cotton pad, so you get more product on it even with a small amount. Gently wipe your entire face with the cotton pad, then leave it on your nose, and you can effectively and gently exfoliate doing this for about five minutes."

"This wash off Honey Mask separates into layers so you have to mix it all together, which is a bit of a hassle since you have to leave it on for ten minutes to an hour before it locks down. Compared to a sheet mask it's so effective, it's great as a gift for moms, it's very slippery, and when you wash it off it doesn't feel like it isn't rinsing well. I recommend putting it on right before a shower, about thirty minutes before, then rinsing it off in the shower, and you'll see your skin a lot more plump. But for oily, combo skin, not really, it's too heavy. I like this a lot better than their mugwort bath, which I also use a lot with clients, that one is only ten minutes, it cools the skin down and afterward I can literally see the redness going down. They recently changed the packaging though, now it only comes in the tube type with a bit less product."

"This is real honey, it smells really like honey, so be careful if you're allergic or just don't like the scent, because you apply it for anywhere from ten minutes to an hour, so it can be a little burdensome. But I kind of like it because I can put it on before the shower and wash it off after thirty or forty minutes. The mask is heavy so it locks down hydration and plumps your skin after you wash it off. Because of the honey it still feels slippery afterward, like it's not washing off well, so make sure to wipe it off with a toner pad or it gets sticky and goes all over your hair. It's definitely worth the hype, I'd recommend it if you're dry or mature skin and looking for a good hydrating product."

Whenever you apply it, it's too sticky and too watery, so it ends up all over your fingers, and after twenty minutes it just peels off, that's trash. Even right before bed I just wanted to get rid of it, and it still felt stuffy and dried out by morning. I think they wanted to make something like a Biodance overnight mask, but this one fails because the mask isn't easy to wipe off like rice paper, it's just everywhere, so I ended up washing it out. "I couldn't avoid buying this because I was curious. Highlighter wise American products do the best because they're a lot more beam, a lot more dramatic, so I'm picking this Sephora product."
"This is super popular all over TikTok, it looks like a mist but it's actually a Hand Sanitizer. The watermelon scent is a little strong but I can bear it, and it's not sticky which is good. I'm not going to repurchase it myself, but if you're looking for an affordable present for someone who loves beauty, why not."
"With cleansing devices like Clarisonic, you end up cleansing every single day and it's usually too much. If you use a cleansing oil or cleansing balm instead, you can still melt down blackheads. In my twenties I used devices like this a lot because you don't really think about your skin barrier yet, you just want the quick easy way, but I think cleansing devices were a lot more popular back then."
"I've been asked about beauty devices, especially the Medicube ones. I tried it and it's not worth the money, so I just resold it. I think you don't really need it, and actually if your skin is more sensitive, more mature, or more dry, using it can make things even worse. Using a device like that every day for a couple of months isn't as effective as going to a dermatologist and getting something done, so I don't think it's worth that much."
"I ended up with the mild version by mistake but it's almost the same as the original. As soon as it touches your skin you feel it cooling, one side is embossed and the other is soft. When I wiped it on my nose I could feel my pores getting clean, but when I wiped again it turned red, it's effective but it's too aggressive, it feels like my skin is being shaved off. Don't use it too often, only use it when your t-zone area is rough, and if you have sensitive skin just put it on your nose and wipe it off gently."
"You saturate a cotton pad with this and leave it on the area you want to target for 10 to 15 minutes, then gently slide it with a cotton swab and rinse with water. It does an excellent job at removing stubborn nose filaments and cleaning them around my T-zone. I did it on my forehead, chin, and nose, but if you're dry or combo skin, try just the T-zone. You'll use this up really quickly, but they run promotions on it, and I think if you care about your pores this works much better."
"Compared to the other eye cream I'll give this one the better point, because Beauty of Joseon's has retinol and is very lightweight. If you're worried about milia, or you're in your early twenties just starting to use eye cream, this is going to be an amazing, great, and affordable option."

"Compared to the other eye cream I'll give this one the better point, because Beauty of Joseon's has retinol and is very lightweight. If you're worried about milia, or you're in your early twenties just starting to use eye cream, this is going to be an amazing, great, and affordable option."
My (Very Honest) Review of Viral K-Beauty Anti-Aging Products
"I think Beauty of Joseon did a great job with this eye cream because it has retinal in it. Compared to older, heavier eye creams in a jar that feel like a chore to use, this one is light and absorbs pretty quickly, so it's easy to use and affordable. It does have a little retinal in it so it makes it a little tight for me, but I think they made the eye cream easy to use, and I think it's worth it. Anybody who's lazy, even in their early 20s, can try out this one for an eye cream."
Global No.1 vs Korea No.1 Skincare: Which is Better and Why?
"Beauty of Joseon's eye cream I think became popular because the texture isn't too heavy, the color is light, and the scent isn't strong so it's easy to apply. It has retinal in it so it can feel a little tightening. I would pick this one."
Beauty of Joseon Top 16 products Rated Best to Worst (Not Sponsored)
"The eye cream is also popular, but for me it was just okay. A lot of people mention issues with the pump, mine works fine but some people's don't. Eye creams can often be too heavy or too sticky, but this one is a lot more lightweight, easy to use, and absorbs quickly, so it's good for oily skin if you don't want something too heavy. It has retinal in it, so some people can feel a little burning, but other than that it kind of didn't live up to the hype for me."
"This is the Mary and May eye cream. Compared to K-Secret, which is very easy to apply, Mary and May tends to sit on top of the skin, so you have to tap it in for proper absorption. It contains tranexamic acid and glutathione for dark circle brightening, but I didn't see much effect. It's meant for AM use, but the texture isn't great, so I don't reach for it often. I'd rank it B tier."
"Between the three roller eye creams, Axis-Y is my favorite. These are more like a light eye gel than a classic eye cream, so I don't think I'm actually going to use it myself, maybe just for fun. But if you have dry, mature skin and care about wrinkles and want a good level of moisture, this isn't for you."
"This is the Numbuzin eye cream. It was all over social media and I had a lot of difficulty opening the packaging at first, so many people ended up just prying it open, but once it's open you can just press it, so it's not that much of a problem. After testing it and using it continuously, I think this line works pretty great. I felt like an eye cream has to actually work like an eye cream, if it's too light, like Beauty of Joseon, why even use it, it dries too quickly. This one works like a proper eye cream and it contains 50 different peptides, which definitely helps slow aging. I'd put this in S tier. However, if you have oily combo skin and live in tropical weather, even young skin can find this one a bit heavy."
"This is the Haru Wonder bakuchiol eye cream. For moisturizing power I'm putting this in S tier. It feels sealed, like a thin moisture coating locked onto the skin. My makeup artist friend picked this as one of her top two favorites because it works beautifully under makeup and felt like something she could confidently recommend to almost anyone, I'd recommend it for anyone starting to feel end of day dryness, even with oily skin. My one complaint about these bakuchiol eye creams is the scent, I don't think they've nailed a good scent for it yet."
"There's also this capsule cream from VT PDRN and it's pretty good. If you love using a massage device, this feels really good when you do the rolling, so you don't have to buy a separate massage cream."
"The Anua serums, the red and peach ones, are so popular online, though you actually can't buy them in Korea because of the law, I even buy mine from overseas. I'd say they're okay, you can try them once, but they're not a product I really, really recommend. The PDRN percentage is really low, more like a hyaluronic acid serum, and while people expect PDRN to be anti-aging and lifting, this one is very lightweight, more for everyday use in oily combo tropical weather."

"This one is great for traveling, a little lighter, though it's a bit fishy and artificial smelling since it's from salmon. In Korea's summer humidity of 40 to 50 percent I like this one better, it's not watery but lighter than the bottle serum. If you're oily combo skin and it's summer, this one is pretty good and still gets your skin hydrated, it goes in more quickly and feels more lightweight."
TOP 10 Korean Skincare Brands | Global #1 VS Korea #1 - WHICH IS BETTER?
"This PDRN serum contains hyaluronic acid, collagen and glutathione, but comparing it to other PDRN serums, Anua has the least amount of PDRN, only about 100 ppm, while others have three to four thousand. The texture is slightly oily and tacky, so oily or combo skin should only use it at night, while dry skin can use it daily. If you expect lifting, it doesn't really do that, it's more just a hydrating serum. It's too light for dry, mature skin over 40, and a bit thick for oily skin. Overall this Anua product is not my favorite, but it's nothing amazing and nothing bad, which is probably why it became a bestseller, and if you're in your 20s or 30s you could try it casually."
What You Should Know Before You Buy Viral Korean Skincare Products!
"This contains 100 PPM of PDRN, which is one hundredth of what's in Medicube. At this level, claiming it contains PDRN is more of a marketing strategy, it's essentially just a hyaluronic acid serum. It's the most lightweight of the five serums, better for oily and combo skin. It's okay, but I don't want to repurchase it, because we have so many options when it comes to hyaluronic acid serum."
"This has the highest hydration level of all sixteen moisturizers I tested, but it feels almost like Vaseline. I cannot understand why people love this. If you have oily combo skin you will really hate it, it just feels like putting on Vaseline. It has a thick, occlusive texture but I do not feel like it is actually moisturizing on the inside. Is VIRAL TIKTOK skincare *Worth the HYPE?* | BRUTALLY HONEST REVIEW
"I have dry skin, but whenever I put this on my skin it literally feels like putting honey on my skin, so sticky, and it doesn't absorb well. The formulation is heavy but it is not effective enough to change the skin. You can only use it at night because of the texture, not for oily or combo skin, only for very dry skin in winter, and only if you don't toss and turn too much in your sleep, because even an hour after applying it, it still feels like honey, very sticky, so it ends up all over the pillow."
"This makes tiny holes with small needles, which tightens your pores and makes your skin more elastic, but it's not like a normal serum, why would you make micro scars on your skin every day. If you have sensitive skin or redness, be careful. It's a super big hit all over the world, but I'm not a fan of this concept because I have redness and it feels like too much to use every day. I'd say this is a C, but if you love it you can try it out, I'm just not a fan of it, sorry."

Viral K-Beauty vs What Koreans Actually Use: Which is better? And Why?
"Between the global spicule serum and this one, I'm going to pick this one. It's a bit more spicy than the other but it doesn't last as long, but I definitely like it more because I can feel a little more tightening, and I put it here and around the eye area too. Because of the little spicy tingle it also makes the skin pretty moisturized. If you're older than me, over 40, just try it out, but if you have sensitive skin be careful, it can make thin or red-prone skin more red. Also don't use it together with retinol or vitamin C, that's too many actives at once, use it on a different day."
10 Viral Korean Beauty Products Fact-Checked: what worked and what didn’t
"The VT Reedle Shot isn't for everyday and it's not for everybody, it's more like a treat you use rarely, not for beginners who don't have their skincare routine down. It's not really a new concept, the tiny needles remove dead skin cells so your moisturizer penetrates better, and it comes in different strength levels. If you have rosacea, eczema, sensitive skin, or atopic inflammation it's going to make you worse, so please patch test before you try it. For me it was just a little tickle, so I'd start low at the lowest level, and don't use it together with retinol, vitamin C, or other beauty devices because that's too much stimulus for your skin. After you use it, it leaves tiny scars on your skin so you have to seal it with a moisturizer afterward. I don't recommend it to my students, but if you have oily skin and care a lot about your pores, or you have an important event and want your makeup to sit really well, it makes sense to use it for a short period. They also sent me a new version with PDRN, red tea, and collagen added, and their influencer marketing is amazing, but it's so heavy."

I Bought every Best Selling Korean Skincare From Olive Young to find the best one.
"VT Reedle Shot is this year's K-beauty superstar, it's based on the principle of causing a slight wound to the skin so active ingredients can penetrate deeper. There are a few types, 50, 100, and 300, the most famous is 100 and that's the one I tried, the bigger the number the stronger it is. I don't use this, my face stings, itches, and the redness got worse. If you have thin skin, atopic dermatitis, inflammation, or melasma, never use it. I got more negatives than positives from it. For people with thick skin and big pores, I'd recommend starting from the 50."
"The good thing about this one is that now when you buy it they give you a little shimmery pot you can use as a base eyeshadow, and it has a lot of lighter shades. If you use the lighter colors this way, it's great, because you can even use them as a blush too."

"In Olive Young the best selling Eyeshadow Palette this year was WAKEMAKE, but I feel it has too many colors, I'm not going to use them all, and it's actually too pinky for beginners. Still, these beige brown colors I can even use on my guy students who want to learn makeup because it never looks like too much, it's very affordable, and the colors work pretty well."
"I use the Clio mascara, and when I asked my makeup artist friends they said it's all about preference between this and Etude. It's very affordable and holds a curl, since Asian lashes are so straight, once you curl your lashes this keeps the curl fixed instead of falling flat like a panda's. The brush is skinny so you can get clean, lifted lashes. Compared to western mascaras it doesn't clump like a spider, but it gives you more volume, and if you have mono lids and want a more dramatic look, get it, you won't regret it."
"My favorite holy grail is the Make Up For Ever eyeliner, in a burgundy shade. If you have dark brown eyes like Asian eyes, this brown is pretty light, but if you have blue or lighter green eyes like Caucasians, it's great for blending, because other Korean brands have a chocolate color that can be too dark."

"I've tried so many different lip products, but Laneige is number one, it's very affordable and I've been using it for a long time. "The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is so popular it's even sold at Sephora in the States. Some people say it's similar to Vaseline, but I don't think so, Vaseline dries out too quickly and this one is better. I don't only use it at night, I put it on everywhere, every two hours, because it's super moisturizing, which is very important if your lips have too many lines and are too dry to put anything else on."
I tried TikTok most viral Korean skincare products…an honest review (Not sponsored)
"This one is really meaningful to me, I don't usually rebuy the same product since new stuff always comes out, but this is amazing. If I have a client I start with this using a Q-tip, that's step one, everyone's lips are so dry. I tried Vaseline and other stick type lip balms and they dried my lips out. Because of the name you'd think it's only for nighttime, but you can put it on during the day and reapply after a couple hours and it works so well. After you finish your lips you can add a little on top as a top coat and it also works like a lip gloss. It's worth the hype."
"I like this scent better, and I like that it's curved instead of just cut straight across, which makes it more convenient to use. It works pretty well as a lip balm, they did a good job with this. I'm going with the bigger American size."
"I tried the color called Happy, one of their bestselling colors. If you want the color to really show up, Rare Beauty does that, but don't use your finger with this one, I highly recommend dabbing it on with a sponge or the color shows up too much."
"Please don't buy this one, save your money, I just don't like the color. I have rosacea and if I put this on it I just look like a clown. I don't think the color is pretty, it just looks so cheap."
"I ended up using this one more because I don't like the smell of the artificial hair salon scent the other one has, this one is a little more acceptable. I felt it was much more effective, my husband touched it and definitely picked this side, it's a lot more silky. You can feel the difference right after you use it, but it doesn't stay like that for long. I don't like the packaging though, it's a jar you dig into with wet fingers, water gets inside it and it doesn't feel hygienic. I cannot wait to finish it, I just wanted to use other products."
"This is another one of my holy grail brushes, the Tangle Teezer brush. It combs and calms your scalp without hurting, like a slight rubbing massage on the scalp, which helps blood circulation, and in the process the dead skin cells on your scalp come off gently and it washes better when shampooing. I've used both of my brushes for more than five to seven years and they're still perfectly fine."
"Dr.G takes longer to absorb and dries out faster. However, I cannot agree that this relieves acne like they say. It is a shame that it comes in a jar, it would be nicer if it was a tube because that is more hygienic."
"It's totally safe, totally fine to use. Even on my hundred day old baby I tried it out, no problem at all. I have more dry, mature skin and we have a really brutal winter here in Korea, so it's totally fine for me to use it. But if you have acne prone skin, more oily, and you're suffering from breakouts, I don't really recommend it that much because it can clog your pores and make it too oily, so please keep that in mind. It doesn't have any nutrition in it by itself, so you always have to use it with something active, at least a moisturizer, and use it as the last step of your skincare, not on its own."

NO WAY! Vaseline Secret Tips! How To Reduce Wrinkles on Face
"Vaseline is a great item, but not many people know how to use it properly. It works as a moisturizing film that traps moisture in the skin, but it doesn't drag water in on its own, so with just Vaseline alone your skin can't be amazing, you need something like hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, vitamin C or retinol to bring moisture in first and then Vaseline seals it in, so your fine lines get sufficiently straightened and your skin gets more plump. It's not great for everybody though, if you have oily or acne prone skin you don't even need it, it's going to be too oily and clog your pores and make your blackheads and whiteheads worse. I only use a very small amount, melt it on my palm, and press it onto my face, especially a little more on the dry smile lines and eye bags, and I only use it in the evening because during the day you want makeup or sunscreen and Vaseline is thick and heavy so it can make your makeup melt. It has a similar key ingredient to a four hundred dollar luxury cream but costs two or three dollars. Since I have dry skin, if I seal with Vaseline I feel a little sticky the next day, so I highly recommend washing without cleansing foam in the morning."
HOW TO use VASELINE on face | SLUGGING SKINCARE ROUTINE | Beauty hacks to reduce wrinkles
"I think it's a good idea to use Vaseline first if you're thinking about fine lines and want younger, good skin, Vaseline is the answer. It protects your skin and keeps moisture from evaporating, and if you apply it consistently for about two weeks to a month you can feel the dryness inside get better and your fine lines disappear. Vaseline is like three or four bucks, but if you use it well it's a product that's worth millions of dollars, especially for people like me, it's the best for those with thin, fine lines and dry skin. If you have oily skin you don't need it, it could make things worse, and if you're allergic to petroleum derived products and you break out or get itchy after using it, just stop, it's not for you."
"This one has no scent, so if you're sensitive to that it's great, but I don't know why it's so popular, it feels very safe, that's it, and I don't think I'm going to repurchase it. It's pretty rough as a scrub, so if you have dry mature skin like me it's way too much overexfoliating. It also comes in a jar which is hard to dig into, and the rose scent is too strong for me."
"Luna's concealer does have a lighter shade than the Sam, but unless you're using it strictly as a highlighter, you really don't need it. When I compared the color payoff and firmness to the Sam, they weren't that different, but the Sam blends better overall."
