What the gurus are saying

Ceramides paired with licorice root and green tea earn praise for calming redness and supporting the skin barrier across multiple skin types. At $13-14, reviewers highlight the value and regularly compare it favorably to pricier Drunk Elephant alternatives. One catch: the opaque jar makes it hard to tell when it's actually empty, which may frustrate anyone who likes to see exactly what they're using.

"It doesn't really generate much of a foamy lather, but there is a bit of a silky, creamy lather to it. I love that it has licorice root, which helps calm down redness. It is anti-inflammatory, and of course it also has ceramide, similar to the CeraVe cleansers, but without the niacinamide, if you are niacinamide overloaded right now in your skincare routine. This was fine, I didn't have any gripes with it or problems, but the packaging is a reason why I would not buy this again, because I just don't like the uncertainty of if this is truly empty or not. That bothers me like you would not believe. Otherwise I really liked it a lot."

"It's a good little stocking stuffer from BYOMA, you get the jelly cleanser and the hydrating serum, I've used both of those, they're pretty nice. The jelly cleanser has ceramides and licorice root and green tea. I love gel cleansers, just from the neurocutaneous sensory aspect of things."

"The Milky Jelly Cleanser has a low lather, and that's going to depend on user preference. My skin is more of an oily type and I do tend to wear makeup, and I feel like that just wouldn't cut it for me. Out of all of these, that's the only one I probably wouldn't use."

Top Picks And Flops: Ulta Beauty's Facial Cleansers Evaluated - Fragrance Free Cleansers I Love
"For 14 bucks, the BYOMA Milky Jelly Cleanser made my skin feel super super dry and tight, and it had a strong rosemary oil scent to it. I actually bought it and returned it. That's one of the very few things I've returned this year. Typically I might return a couple products a year, but usually I'm buying them to review them so I don't really think I have a right to return things unless they're just so bad, and that was one of them. Even for 14 bucks, it's bad."

"I finished a mini of the Boma creamy jelly cleanser. It's okay, not my absolute favorite, but I did get through the mini of it."
I Tried Byoma Skincare for a Month: What I Liked (and Didn't!)
"This is the Milky Moisture Cleanser and oh my gosh, I am so pleased with this cleanser. This is renewing my faith in drugstore cleansers. It is a beautiful milk cleanser, a nonfoaming cleanser, it still contains surfactants so it still cleanses, just in the most gentle way. It has a beautiful fragrance-free formula, it contains ceramide ingredients, panthenol, oat extract. The full formula comes together to be absolutely beautiful, I am so happy with this cleanser."
I Changed My Mind! | How I See Skincare in 2024
"This is a cream cleanser, and cream cleansers do not foam, which probably sounds awful to a lot of people with oily or normal skin. That lack of foaming is so gentle, and yet it cleanses my dry sensitive skin so well. I know people with oily skin are probably not going to have the same experience I do with it."

"This right here is the Milky Jelly Cleanser. This has a tri ceramide complex so it doesn't strip the skin, and remember, cleansers are an absolute essential for all skincare routines. This also has licorice root extract, that is not the same as vitamin C but it can brighten the skin and have a similar benefit to vitamin C but without the stinging and the irritation. There's also green tea, which really helps to nourish a skin barrier and has antioxidant support. It's a really fun texture, it's really fun to use, and again, skincare is health care, hygiene is essential. This is a great choice, you get a lot for your money, you can get it at Target. And again, if it's the product package they like, this is very similar to Drunk Elephant at a fraction of the price."

BYOMA INVESTIGATION
"Moving on to the Jelly Cleanser. It's got cocamidopropyl betaine in it, which is a gentle surfactant. I like that, especially if you have dry or sensitive skin. It's got ceramides in it, and allantoin, which is an anti-inflammatory. So I do like this product. I would recommend this product, especially if you have dry, sensitive skin."
BEST & WORST OIL CLEANSERS
"The next product is from BYOMA, and I've literally just filmed an entire BYOMA analysis investigation, so watch that if you're interested in this brand. The Milky Jelly Cleanser is four pounds for a hundred mils, the first ingredient is again oat fruit extract, two out of five on the comedogenic scale. I like it because it has ceramides in it, it's a hydrating formula, and it's a fragrance safe. I really, really like this product."

"This is like so spot on from packaging to experience to ingredients that I was like, oh my goodness, this is about as dupy as it gets. It's the BYOMA Milky Jelly Cleanser for $14, so you're saving a good $20 on a cleanser. It's a very similar type of consistency, you get that really deep cleansing experience, and the cleansing ingredients are very similar, but in my opinion the BYOMA cleanser has better ingredients cuz it has licorice root extract, green tea, ceramides, it's a pretty stacked ingredient list. And I just want to say this for anyone out there who's obsessed with Drunk Elephant, especially if you're younger, check out BYOMA. They have great skincare products that are super cute but still have a luxury feel to them, with very similar packaging to Drunk Elephant but for literally a fraction of the price point, and I recommend their products all the time on my channel. They're great. If you're a parent out there who wants to get their kids set up with a skincare routine and you know about all the Drunk Elephant hype, I definitely recommend checking out BYOMA."
