What the gurus are saying

Whether this CC cream works depends heavily on skin tone: reviewers with fair, warm skin praise the lightweight, full-coverage feel, while those with deeper skin tones consistently report it sits gray and heavy. The SPF 50 claim requires four to five pumps for genuine protection, making it impractical as a standalone sunscreen. Shade range is limited, particularly for deeper skin tones, and many shades ship online-only.

"The IT Cosmetics CC Cream SPF 50 is one I've been using for a long time, and I always come back to this. It covers, it treats, it protects. It has vitamin E, glycerin, and SPF 50 in one step. For someone who wants meaningful coverage without the feel of a traditional foundation, this consistently delivers."

"I've recently been a big fan of the IT Cosmetics CC Cream. It has SPF 40, as well as other wonderful, lovely ingredients to help hydrate and nourish your skin."

"Sometimes, if I need a little more coverage, I'll do the IT Cosmetics CC+ cream on top of the SPF. [...] On top of the regular sunscreen, I'll alternate between tinted sunscreen and the CC+ cream. [...] My shade of IT Cosmetics CC+ cream is the fair light."

"The deep shade range is extremely limited and there's no real undertone variation in the darker shades. The formula is thick and sits on top of the skin rather than blending in naturally. It doesn't actually cover hyperpigmentation or texture, it just sits there, and it tends to look flat and gray on deeper skin tones."

"The IT Cosmetics CC Cream just didn't work for me. It does deliver the full coverage it promises, but the texture felt heavy, almost like a thick moisturizer mixed with concealer, and it has a citrussy scent that reminded her of air fresheners. Within the first two hours it started breaking down around her nose and mouth, and by hour four it looked like she'd been wearing the foundation for three days straight, patchy and crusty. Applying it was tricky: fingers didn't work at all and kept lifting the product off, a sponge was better but still lifted product in previously applied areas, and a dense foundation brush gave the most even coverage. She wears the shade Light, a good match but on the lighter side, out of 30 available shades, though her store only stocked about a third and the rest had to be ordered online, calling it a 47 euro gamble. On the SPF 50+ claim, she said the amount needed to actually reach that protection level, four to five pumps, would be completely unwearable, since she normally uses one to one and a half pumps. The formula's SPF ingredients differ by shade, with lighter shades using Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide and deeper shades using Homosalate, Octisalate and Octocrylene instead, which she thinks could explain why some people love it and others hate it. It also contains Glycerin and Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide, snail secretion filtrate, Green Tea Extract, Colloidal Oatmeal, and two peptides from the Matrixyl 3000 complex, plus citrus essential oils that might irritate sensitive skin. The result was the same whether her skin was oilier in summer or drier in winter from her Tretinoin use."

"I purchased the IT Cosmetics CC Cream in the shade Fair, something that had been on my to buy list for years. I'm probably the last person on Earth to try this CC cream, and despite reading a ton of reviews on it, I have to say I really enjoy it. But it is absolutely not what I expected it to be, which is totally a me problem, because it is exactly what every review describes it to be: quite opaque in coverage."

"IT Cosmetics is always fooling people with that CC cream, yes, that is absolutely a full coverage foundation."

"This is the color correcting full coverage cream, described as a serum, broad spectrum SPF 50. I love that it literally says use with sun protection measures. I love It Cosmetics. This will always be in my collection. It's very full coverage. It's described as a serum but it's got a pretty moussey texture to it, but the mousse is so lightweight. When I start to blend it out, it feels like a lightweight creamy mousse. Sometimes with a full coverage foundation you have this heavy feel, it sinks into the skin. This does not feel that way, it has a very lightweight feel to it. The color is not completely perfect, it's a little bit more on the orangey side, maybe slightly less yellow than the MAC foundation, but the formula is so beautiful. It's really creamy, it's hydrating, it's comfy. It leaves my skin with more of a satin finish. It provides a really nice blur to the skin without being too matte."

"I also absolutely love my IT Cosmetics CC Cream. This is my favorite every year, I've been using this for at least six years and it's always my go-to. It honestly covers up redness and blemishes so nicely, you can achieve a full coverage look with this, but you can also achieve a light to medium coverage depending on how much you're applying and what you're using. If you use a damp beauty blender you're going to achieve more of that lighter finish, but if you're using a makeup brush like a foundation brush you're going to get more of that medium to full coverage. I have two shades, Fair as well as Light. I generally have to mix these two together during the winter months, but in the summer I'm strictly just Light. In the winter I have to mix the two because Fair on its own is just a little bit too fair for the winter, so that little bit of Light just gives that perfect tone. This is also an SPF 50, all mineral, and there's also great skincare ingredients in here as well, and this never ever disappoints."

"I love the IT Cosmetics CC Creams. I've been using these for years, and I have two types of formulations here. This is the original formula, which will give your skin that skin-like finish. This is the illumination formulation, which of course will give more of that luminosity, that glow, that reflectant to the skin. Yes, there is a little bit of a shimmer in the formula, but I promise you you're not super sparkly, it's just when that sun hits your skin it just reflects and adds more of that glow to the skin, which I really love. There is a matte formula which I have tried before in the past. I wouldn't say that formula is super mattifying, I would say that one is more skin-like but a little bit more matte than the original, but it's not super matte. I just love these two the best. Now these have an SPF 50, and all of these contain a titanium dioxide of 9% and a zinc oxide of 6.3%. I love these because if you do have redness, this formula does a good job to eliminate the redness and it really helps to even out your skin tone."

"I used to religiously wear my IT Cosmetics CC Cream as my sunscreen, that was it, that was all I would put on, and I thought it's SPF 50, I am protected. And you know what, listen, it gives you a little bit of protection, there's no doubt about it, but the amount of makeup that you have to use to actually reach that kind of protection would look so funny on your skin. It would be clown looking makeup, you would look like you have a face mask on to be able to achieve the actual SPF number that is on that makeup if you're just relying on your makeup. [...] Makeup with SPF as your actual sunscreen is out, that is out."
